Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishes common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of denied boarding, flight cancellations, or long delays. You are eligible for compensation if:

myou have a confirmed reservation on the relevant flight operated by the airline for the purchased fare available directly or indirectly to the public; and
(except in cases where your flight was canceled) you arrived on time and before check-in closure as indicated in the airline’s Terms of Carriage or related rules; and
your flight departs from an airport located in an EU member state or from an airport outside the EU to an airport located in an EU member state (unless you have already received compensation or assistance in that country equivalent to what is required by the regulation); and
boarding was not denied due to reasons specified in the airline’s Terms of Carriage or related rules; and
boarding was involuntarily denied, or your flight was delayed by at least 2 hours from the scheduled departure time, or it was canceled.
